DESCRIPTION:David Sul is a psychometrician and evaluator who specializes in culturally specific assessment in support of indigenous cultural and linguistic revitalization initiatives. Sul is a proponent of the development of performance-based assessments using item response theory (IRT) from indigenous perspectives. His unique approach to critical measurement considers assessment development as a political act that can support indigenous autonomy and self-determination.
