New committee: DEI and Anti-Oppression Committee
The Canadian Evaluation Society - Ontario Chapter has committed itself to enacting a decolonial, gender-sensitive, and anti-racist agenda to serve and better reflect the diversity of our province. The newly established CES-ON DEI and Anti-Oppression Committee takes a leadership position with regards to matters pertaining to DEI and anti-oppression. We are committing to dedicated resources and members to support its role. This working group is a forum for discussion, consultation, and feedback on matters of social justice in CES-ON. The purpose of the DEI and Anti-Oppression Committee is as follows: To operationalize and report on the commitments laid out in the Board’s Statement ‘Commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Anti-Racism.’
Volunteer Profile While we encourage all interested volunteers to reach out, individuals with abilities and expertise in any or all of the following areas are highly encouraged to apply: - Subject Matter Expertise Sharing – advising the committee on DEI AO principles as it might relate to the evaluation profession, resource person in related knowledge areas
- Policy and Framework Development – crafting and developing policy frameworks for organizations/board membership
- Social Media – creating content material for social media platforms
- Communications – connecting DEAIO values to messages
- Research – researching relevant ideas, sources, and relevant info
- Connector/partnership development – connecting the DEIAO committee with potential partners, evaluators, donors, volunteers, supporters prioritizing DEIAO principles
- Coordination and Facilitation – planning and facilitating webinars with speakers
This call is open to established and emerging evaluators, and those considering pursuing evaluation as a practice/profession. Both CES-ON members and non-members are encouraged to apply. Time Commitment and Expectations - The Committee meets at least 8-10 times a year (frequency may be adjusted as necessary and as agreed by majority of the Committee members): meetings are 1 hour long.

The committee will accept new volunteers until a sufficient number of volunteers are recruited. New members are expected to serve for at least 2 years.
