CES Ontario Supports New Practitioners and Students Entering Evaluation

As your professional association, we understand the challenges of beginning a new career. If you are a student or a recent graduate, you will likely have a lot of questions. CES Ontario offers two special memberships for people new to evaluation.

The first is the Student Membership, which is open to current full-time students of any degree or diploma program.

The second is the New Practitioner Membership, which is open to any new or renewing Ontario member who has graduated from a degree or diploma program in the last two years.

Both memberships costs $100 (+13% HST = $113.00)  annually, about half the price of a full individual membership. They also offer plenty of perks, including discounts on chapter-run professional development programming, special networking and learning events aimed at new evaluators, and the opportunity to serve as a committee member or director of the CES Ontario board of directors.

Getting started

Apply for membership. New or renewing Student or New Practitioner members can use the Canadian Evaluation Society’s online membership application form or their fillable PDF.

Take a workshop. CES Ontario offers a variety of professional development training throughout the year. New evaluators are encouraged to attend the Essential Skills Series course, a four-day foundational training that provides a thorough understanding of evaluation terms, practices, and techniques. Other advanced workshops are also available.

Attend an event. CES Ontario hosts workshops, panel discussions, and networking events aimed at students and new practitioners of evaluation. Check our Event Listings for upcoming events, or attend EvalCafe, sponsored by CES Ontario.
