The Canadian Evaluation Society Ontario Chapter (CES-ON) is committed to offering professional development opportunities in support of our mission, which is that:

CES-Ontario supports evaluation and its practitioners in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in Ontario through professional development, standards, member support, education and the promotion of evaluation.

Professional development workshops are offered throughout the year to engage Evaluators and CES-Ontario members across Ontario, and to achieve this standard of excellence in evaluation. CES Members receive a 25% discount on all professional development opportunities.

Training Opportunities

We offer our introductory Essential Skills Series course several times each year.

We also offer intermediate/advanced level courses on an ongoing basis. In 2022, we will be offering  The Art and Science of Producing Effective Infographics, Facilitation Skills for M&E Practitioners, and several workshops on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We have also surveyed our membership for topics that are relevant to their professional development needs, and will be designing future courses based on their feedback.

In 2017-2020, we offered Principles-Focused Evaluation; Evaluation by Design; Developmental Evaluation; Strategic Project Management; Theory of Change; and Performance Measurement.

Past intermediate and advanced workshops include Survey Design, Logic Models, and Qualitative Methods in Program Evaluation. These workshops are not being offered in 2021.

Certificates of Completion are provided to those who fully complete any of our workshops.
